Is Insomnia a Mental Health Disorder?

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder that is often indicated by sleeplessness, tiredness, repeated episodes of waking up in the middle of the night, not feeling well-rested after sleeping, and increased mistakes or errors. Insomnia is one of the most affecting disorders that have riddled about thirty to fifty percent of the total world population. But this again brings us to a question: is insomnia a mental health disorder? Well, the answer is not a straight yes or a no.  A lot of studies conducted around the world have corroborated that insomnia is not a separate or isolated disease; it is rather a disorder that goes hand-in-hand with other mental disorders. In fact, in some cases, insomnia is a symptom of other problems. To say that insomnia is a mental health disorder on its own, would be an incomplete definition.
